お誕生日おめでとうございます京さん！！！
Today, 16th February is the birthday of Kyo, vocalist of Dir en Grey. Who I have seen TWICE!!! The first ever J-Rock band that I saw and, currently, the last one I saw as well.
Eugh, that dark area scanned so badly... That's horrid... Oh well, nothing I can do. It's just from how the paper has wrinkled a bit. Sucky...
This isn't my favourite drawing ever, but I do really like it. I don't quite think it looks that much like Kyo, but then he does look different in just about every photo ever. Also, my Kyo isn't looking at the camera, but at least he's not cross-eyed. I do think that there's a certain... roughness to this drawing, it's not as clean and refined as some of the others. But maybe that suits it... I was working from a picture about a twentieth of the size I'd usually use, but I couldn't find many good quality, big pictures that I wanted to draw. At least the quality was good, just a bit small. I spend so much of my life making up jewellery you know... Why is it all so obscure and difficult to see? And originally thatw as one of the worst noses I've EVER drawn, but I managed to turn it around SOMEHOW.
The hands on this were pretty hard and the hair was a lot trickier than I was expecting it to be. This drawing was 3 hours 40 minutes, but I had a break in the middle. I like this drawing and it's awesome to draw Kyo, coz he's so amazing. He's just so charismatic and he has this amazing energy live, he's awesome. And his voice is really impressive. I appreciate Diru a lot more now since I've seen them live.
It's also Kaoru's birthday tomorrow and Shinya's later in the month, which is fun
But I had to draw Kyo a day early coz my friend from back home is staying for the weekend and I didn't think she'd appreciate being ignored for four hours while I drew. Though I'd forgotten that it was Kaoru's tomorrow, so he's going to have to be late. Which is a pain coz I've already missed SO MANY... I feel bad...
